Leaves and sandals, Noman Siddiqui

The Sandals

Remember the two children who were stranded in the hot desert.

To avoid the unbearable heat, the first child took down the palm leaves from the trees– scattering them everywhere on the hot sand, to avoid the heat beneath the feet.

The second child pulled down the straws and vines off the palm trees, and began knitting – with patience and focus.

In the end, the child was able to craft a pair of sandals – which enabled walking freely anywhere in the dessert. The child travelled far with the sandals –  unlike the other child who in the end, ran out of all the leaves.
